I just thought it would be cool if we all discuss our first experiences with Wicked. I'll go first. I actually heard about the concept and at first I thought that it would be stupid. But then my best friend got the soundtrack randomly and we both started listening to it and we loved the music! Then, as luck would have it, my high school Honors English class was going to NY and the teachers decided that we should all go see Wicked. It was amazing. All the other kids in my class were like "Yeah, ... it was cool" and I was shocked that they didn't think it was as amazing as I did. As soon as the curtain went down on the first act, I had decided I was gonna be on Broadway one day. So yeah, Wicked is the reason I'm a theater major now. Right so, now everyone else describe their first experiences.

I saw Eden Espinosa, Megan Hilty, and Derrick Williams. To this day they are all my favorites. I don't know if it's just because they were my first or if I really do just like them better. So far I haven't heard anyone better imo. one_short_day keep trying for tickets. Haha, if you ask me, you can't go through life without seeing Wicked. Videos are absolutley nothing in compare. You will never forget something like that.

My first experience seeing Wicked was with a extra class trip thing. I loved musical theatre still then, and had heard about Wicked...but I didn't know anything about it or really heard any of the music. I saw it in Chicago with Ana and Sarah Jane Everman (the most amazing u/s) and I loved it. Not knowing much about it my first time, I had to go back and see it again soon.
I've seen every cast in Chicago as well as many understudies too...I've seen it a total of 7 times, and I can't wait to go back again.
first time was with kendra and lisa brescia. i LOVED it. had like row J...left orch. aisle..so i was like..in for 4 bc of how the gershwin is set up. it was AMAZING. popular was HILARIOUSSS...and i remember the car ride home listening to the soundtrack going "uhm OMG they sound SOOO different than who we just saw!!" i didnt like the soundtrack @ first bc they didnt sound anything like kendy and lisa. lol
lol! yea wickedfan41107, I saw the whole show once on google video player with eden and megan and then the next time I listened to the soundtrack I was like... WOW! Its so different listening to 2 different galindas and elphies!
I did the same thing. After seeing Eden and Megan and Derrick live, it was hard listening to Idina and Kristen and Norbert on the soundtrack. Eventually though, I've come to appreciate them both haha.

lol! Thats acctually funny! It is really weird hearing different Elphies and Galindas, especially if you are used to certain people playing the roles, Like me I was used to hearing the original then the first time I heard other people singing and even talking I was like.... WOAH! lol!
Haha yeah it's weird. I don't know why it's weird... it's not like we assume that everyone has the same voice. We should know it's gonna sound different, but for some reason when we hear different casts it's like "woah... what's up with this?" haha.

lol! Yeah I havnt really had that chance YET! lol! I have been looking at tickets lately but I want to know who is playing on those days... do any of you guys know how to find out?
Well you never really know who will be there for a certain performance. Generally the main cast will be there unless they are sick, or on vacation. So unless they have something scheudled, you're not going to know until you walk in the theatre and look at the understudy board.
Haha, no prob! Okay so... based on the tour schedule it looks like Ft. Lauderdale. And for the cast you'll be getting Carmen Cusack as Elphie, Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Cliffton Hall as Fiyero, Alma Cuervo as Madame Morrible, Lee Wilkoff as the Wizard, Deedee Magno Hall as Nessarose, Brad Weinstock as Boq, and Tom Flinn as Dr. Dillamond. So there ya have it :D. But depending on different circumstances and what not... I have no idea who any understudies or fill-ins would be, but other than that little tidbit, it's safe to say, that's who you can expect.

I actually saw it about a month after it opened on Broadway....I had read the book when i was about 10 and had been following it ever since. So when i as soon as i found out when and where is was opening i made a deal with my mom and she said if i paid for the tickets, she pay for the plane and hotel. I sat in the center orchestra. It was so amazing, and I guess alot of ppl didn't know you could meet the cast afterwards so when me and my mom went there was hardly anybody there and I actually got to talk with Idina and Kristin and got hugs and signature From Everyone! It was Great!
Then Just LAst summer i Saw it again in L.A with Eden And megan. this time i bought the grimmerie and had everyone sign the first two pages , Everyone in the ensemble as well. And The second time was just a wonderful as the first, and i'm trying to get my mom to take me again
The first time I saw it was actually way back in the day with Kristen and Idina and the rest of the original cast. It was brilliant obviously. And I stagedoored too so I got autographs from nearly everyone which was really cool. I wanted to get a picture but my camera ran out of batteries, i was so upset!
