The Concert Version of Sweeney Todd

Is really worth watching especially if you like George Hearn. I also really liked Patti Lupone as Mrs Lovett. I never saw the Broadway revival with her, but I really loved this concert.

I have that DVD too, but I stopped watching it when I got the concert. It was filmed over two nights in San Fransisco. I have never been a big fan of Angela Lansbury but she was the only person I had ever seen play Mrs Lovett until I saw this concert, and I have a connection to Patti LuPone. No disrespect toward Angela Lansbury. She just never did it for me.

Unfortunatly the only type of Sweeney Todd Ive seen was Burtons Film. I loved that anyway but I gather its the type of thing that would just be amazing on stage.

It really is, Critter. Stage musical > (times a million) Burton Film.

I have the OBCR and absolutely Lovett (haha)!

Alas, I lack the DVD. :(

You can get the Broadway show (with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn) and/or the concert version from Amazon.

I've seen some really OLD video on You Tube with Len Cariuo. That was pretty cool.

No, not professionally produced, although there are a few out there that were used as rehersal tools and are of very good quality. The few I have aren't great quality but they are of Kristins last show, and the show that should have been Idina's last show but Shoshana had to step in for her. At least Idina comes in at the end. And the last one I have is surprsingly good video but kind of a flat show. Which is too bad because it's the only one I have that has the entire OBC in it.
I'm working on getting one of the rehersal shows.

I have too bootlegs. One Idina and Kristen and one Eden and Megan (Megans last I believe). But they are just filmed from the crowd type bootlegs, I'd give anything for a high quality one.

I don't have any stage bootlegs.

I do, however, have a bootleg of Sweeney Todd (the film). I bought it for $5 in Chinatown. The case smells like marijuana... O_o
