Does anyone agree with me that if they make a wicked the musical movie then they should have the same cast they did in the broadway production? because i just think that no one else can play those roles as good as the original. What do you guys think?
I really wouldn't like to see a version movie of Wicked...or at least not for a while. To me, It wouldn't be the same experience as seeing it live when you could pop it into your DVD player whenever you wanted. There's just something special to me about live theatre.
Also, I'm not a big OBC fan...lol, so I don't really know who I would like to see if a movie was created. Tough decision.
Well, my favorite cast is the original but If it were not them then it would be eden espinosa as elphie and megan hilty as galinda. But what about (if they dont make a movie) just a professional recording of the broadway production? It would still be on broadway but just not live. But I do agree with you on the part where you said seeing it live is something special. But some people cant afford to go see it on broadway (it can get expensive) But a recording of it I think would do really good also! :D
I'm all for Eden and Megan. I think they'd be awesome. To me I think they have the best chemestry as friends you know? It also may be cool to see some new people. Kinda like they did with Hairspray. I think that movie turned out well even though few of the actors had done it before... at least I think anyways . That would be neat. IF they would even make one.

Eden and Megan Have to be one of my favorites they are both awesome! I wont mind if they have some new people playing the parts but... They absolutely have to look the part and absolutely have to be able to sing as the broadway people. If they dont then, I dont want to see new people.
Oh definately... I mean it would be neat to have new people, but they have to be good haha. I would be seriously cheesed off if they screwed things up and got people who were completely wrong for the role... like some celebrity who they assume will raise interest in the movie. That would be really annoying.

Ya think! And I heard Brittany Spears tried out for elphie! I mean no offense to Brittany but... I dont think she should play elphie! NO! I think either Eden or Idina for elphie and Kristin or Megan as Galinda. But no Brittany Spears!
wow... that would be awful if Britany Spears was Elphie. I think the world would actually come to an end. Fire would consume the planet and the Apocolypse would be upon us. I'm pretty sure she doesn't have the vocals or the acting skill to even be in the ensemble. Wow.... seriuosly wow

Yeah I agree with you in a way EmeraldCity about it not being made into a movie but then the other part of me wants to see it become a movie or just a recording of it on DVD I just think that it would be cool to watch "Wicked" on DVD, But thats my opinion.... :D
I don't even know how they'd make this into a movie. I mean other musicals that have been made into movies have at least had some realisticality in them (people don't fly or are green or do magic...etc). Like Hairspray, and Rent, and the Phantom of the Opera. I mean none of them are completely realistic (cause people totally break out in random song in real life), but at least they have some premise of belief. But, as awesome as Wicked is, I don't know if it would make a good movie. I mean it would be cool, but I think people would have a hard time taking it seriously. It's still fun to speculate about though. :D

But look at all those other movies, Like.... The Wizard of Oz, The Lord Of The Rings, and all of those other movies, I think Wicked would be a very good and interesting movie that would get peoples attention. But thats just me :)
Alot of ppl are demanding it be made into a movie, and originally thats how it started but slowly was converted to the stage, and i agree with alot of ppl on here...they should bring back the OBC and just do a recording of the show and sell it

Yeah, but the Wizard of Oz comes from a time when musicals were very popular as movies so that was kind of normal. And Lord of the Rings isn't a musical so both of those examples don't really fit with Wicked. And I'm not totally ditching the idea. I'm just saying it would be really difficult for them to pull it off and it may be odd and slightly less well recieved than we would like to hope. It would still be cool though.

I think it has been some time... It came out in 2003 and it is 2008 now so.... thats 5 years and thats awhile. I think they should do like they did the musical, "Cats"
Maybe not the OBC but someone familliar with the way the musical works, I agree. IF it HAD to be a musical film. I just think it would be better if it was based on the book. Either way I think I'd want Tim Burton to direct it.

I saw it too. I didn't like it, at all. But that musical hasn't been out long. Only a couple of years and when you compare it to the life of the books... well I'm not even sure why they made it. Did you like the show much?
