Have you ever read the books or seen the movies? I kinda find all of it a bit boring. I mean it's scenically beautiful but other than that J.R.R Tolkien really didn't do anything amazing when he wrote that story.
The Hobbit, pre-LoTR, was much much better. Still, it wasn't anything to write home about.
I thought the movies were.... pretty much.. stupid! No offense to anyone who likes it but I just didnt like it at all, My brother and my dad love it they watch it alot, I dont see how they like it, I havnt seen the musical but I have seen some clips of it off of youtube
Nah those films were terrible. No worries about offending anyone. Now they did have pretty good costumes, especially the Orks, and it was pretty. But that's not enough to make a good film.
ok so i was on IMDB and they are working on making WICKED into a movie, its officially been released and supposed to come out in 2010 and Idina might be playin Elphaba!
definitely. I mean she'll be a lot older then she was in the original broadway run but she looks really young for her age anyways. And she's fantastic so she totally deserves it.

As much as a lot of people would disagree, I would love to see Tim Burton direct. I think the dark and gothic world he portrays through film would be amazing for Wicked.
yeah i cant wait for his upcoming alice in wonderland. you can just tell its going to be really twisted haha, much like his charlie and the chocolate factory

I'll grant you this: maybe if it was the book. But its the musical, and he'd ruin it.
According to PlayBill the movie's projected release date is 2014 and no one is cast yet. And as awesome as it would be for Chenzel to be the leading ladies, I have a feeling it's probably not going to happen. But that's no reason to be optimistic!! *crosses fingers and hopes for the best*
And I have mixed feelings on Tim Burton. There are specific things I think he could do really well with it, but overall I'm not sure...
Do you like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? Mel Stuarts vision of the book was not only taken completely out of context to Dahls original story, but extremely dark in its own way. (Think of images of chickens heads being cut off during the boat ride)... I mean really... what the? And Gene Wilder portrayed an unjust vision of Willy Wonka that turned him into a father figure. Roald Dahl himself even stated how much he disapproved of this film because it contrasted way to much with his original story. Burton on the other hand brought the original story to life. His film follows the original story as close as any book to film adaption can, and many scenes from the film look exactly like the scribbly illustrations in the novel. He even used the original lyrics written by Dahl in the story. Depps portrayal of Wonka was also much more accurate to the somewhat dark and twisted character portrayed in the original story. If Dahl was alive today Ive almost no doubt that we would love Burtons true to the book story. But hey. I suppose his work isn't for everyone.
Haha frankly Im much happier you saying that than liking Willy Wonka better. As you can tell from my above post Im a little biased on the subject of Tim Burton.... I love the guy. Apart from planet of the apes I like almost all of his films.
I havnt seen 2001 myself. But Ive heard so many people who think its pretty much the best thing since sliced bread. Im eager now to watch it and check it out.
Well if you really think about it, he didn't do that much to it, i mean he pretty much followed the book with a few minor changes, which i really liked
I don't mean to be argumentative. I like most of Tim Burton's films but the man took "The Ballad Of Sweeney Todd" out of the film version! So if he directs Wicked, get ready to lose "Defying Gravity" or something equally as important. I'm not saying I could have thought of a way to make the "Ballad" work on film, but I'm not Tim Burton.
