RE: Movies!!!

LOL Critter.

At least you aren't stuck with a Californian accent like I am.

The really funny thing is that everyone has an accent and very few accept the fact they do.

We say "cool" and "man" far too much. I gather we also have an accent, but I really couldn't describe it. To tell the truth, I think everyone on the west coast sounds the same.

Don't for get. Ohmigod/sh, umm..., yeah, you know, and like every third word.

Omigod, like girls like say like like a whole bunch like yeah and umm...they like you know like say like way too much you know.

There's a girl who does tallk like that. Two words: stereotipical blonde. AKA- valley girl.

The gang bangers have their own lingo, jargon, whatever-you-want-to-call-it as well.

Yup. I'm used to "ghetto."

"Why you all up in my grill?" "Man, he/she on one!" and many more.

Haha, the ghettoness is all over the place though. Even in england (and it sounds even funnier when it's said by us).

Wow. I really can't imagine ghetto-talk in a British accent.

For some reason we divide British accents/tone into two categories: ****ney and proper well-to-do.

As an American I can't really divide the British accents up along regional lines.

nah there are so many different types. Like people in London all talk in a very specific way. Kind of the equivalent of New Yorkers i guess? Though it's hard to tell if you're not British.

Yes.

I imagine you see several accents in London, much like New York.

Does anyone here mind if I bring this topic back around to the subject proposed by the title?

On the last day of the previous semester (Fall for us in the Northern Hemisphere) my drama class watched 'Singing in the Rain'. We didn't get to finish it though.

[It was also finals week so for 3 days we only had 2 classes each day, 2 hours per class: 1&4, 2&5, 3&6]

And that reminds me: my Drama class watched "Broadway: the American Musical, part 6." It covered Wicked biggrin

That "Call me a cab" line is used in Girl, Interrupted.

Anyone here who likes Titanic?
I just watched it again after about a year and a half and remembered why I loved it back then again... It's one of my all-time favourite movies! The sinking is done so accurately and it's so real it feels awful to watch it... I can't even imagine how horrible it must've been to be in a place like that for real. And the love story is also very sweet, whatever some people without any feelings say about it! ;D

I'm also very fascinated about the actual ship and I've read books about it, but that's not movie-talk anymore...

Did you hear they are second-guessing the cause of the flaw, and the angle?

They think the split occurred at a much more minor angle due to bad rivets.

That might be, but it definately looks better on the big screen if everyone just ignores that... :D

I just watched The Confessions of a Shopaholic. The books are a lot better, in my opinion the movie somehow messed most of the characters up, especially Becky (and she spoke so bad Finnish in the end I couldn't get what she was saying ;D)...

I've got some sort of Johnny Depp marathon going on now... I watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean yesterday for the first time (yeah, I've never been too good keeping up with the popular films... ;D) and laughed all the time. Today I watched Finding Neverland with my friend, and if I had been alone I would have cried my eyes out... And tomorrow I'm going to watch the second Pirates of the Caribbean since it's on tv.
And when the summer vacation starts I'm going to have a real Johnny Depp marathon with my friends, we'll watch all the Pirates and Sweeney Todd in the same day. :D

And some good news to those who were shocked when they found out I hadn't seen The Wizard of Oz: I just found the dvd from a sale of a big dvd store in Helsinki, and I'm going to watch it soon, too. Now, when school's almost over (just a week left before the vacation!) I've finally got some time to watch films.

Do yourself a huge favor and don't watch the sequels. They were both unspeakably awful.

lol! Oh Pirates sequels... The fighting and special effects got more exciting, the plots drowned. Well, they're good for a mindless laugh.

Aw, now I want to watch Wizard of Oz too! Love Judy Garland! Only Dorothy I'll tolerate. *smirk*

Yeah, I enjoyed the first pirates, I slept through a lot of the second two.

I love the wizard of oz. I watched it so many times growing up, it's great!

I'm seeing star trek tonight, I'll let you all know what I think of that.
