Okay we all have thought of Wicked becoming into a movie.. Either if we wanted it to or didnt want it to. But who should play the characters If they do NOT use the broadway characters? I am not sure on Elphie and Galinda... Here is my thinking on the casting characters....

  Elphie: Mandy Moore? I dont think she can sing thou I just think that she looks like an elphie

  Galinda: Sara Paxton! I am 100% on her I think that she would do an awesome job with it!

  Fiyero: Ewan Mcgregor DEFINATELY!

    I am not sure about the other characters.... Who do you guys think who should play the parts if they dont use the people who did it on broadway?

I'd personally like to see someone a little less known to play Fiyero. The idea of Obi-One Kanobi being Fiyero is just absurd to me. Perhaps someone a little more similar to the physical look of the Native-American style that he was described as having in the book.

Elphaba I can't see Mandy Moore either she's too naturally beautiful. I'd be looking for someone who looked more like a cross between Margret Hamilton and Nicole Richie. Dark angular features on a super thin body.

For Glinda I'd support someone similar to Kristin but much, much, much, younger.

Well I still think thay ewan mcgregor was FANTASTIC in moulin rouge, and he can really REALLY sing and Yeah I wasnt sure on mandy moore, I thought she just looked it, and I think sara paxton most definately! she is young.. I think she is.... around 16 or 17, and then she will probaly be like... in her twenties if IF they do a movie, and sara paxton can sing to so I think her 100% Maybe they could... bring idina back

So you would want it to be a movie musical? I really wouldn't. I have this idea that a movie musical couldn't possibly be dark enough to capture the real themes behind the story. I think making it from the movie would cheapen the whole thing. But if you were going for a petty musical in the tradition of HSM and HSM2 then I guess that would be okay. I have no idea who Paxton is but if she's just a teen now I'm inclined to think that McGreggor would be too old to play in the same film as her.

What about someone like Christina Ricci as Elphaba? She's good at playing those creepy roles.

think Mandy Moore would be a good Glinda just not Elphaba. I don't know Sara Paxton, so I can't make a judgement about her doing it.

Well it doesnt matter to me, I think either way it would be good, I just think a musical would be cool. I looked christina ricci up and she looks like she would be a good elphie

Yeah thats true, I think they should just bring idina back for elphie if they do a musical, if she hasnt aged alot

I think sara paxton would do a good glinda to! I think if they get anyone for glinda it should be her! for a movie anyways

she was in sydney white and some other stuff. But yeah she'd be a perfect glinda! Look wise and vocally. She is like 19 or 20 now i think so it could work. As far as elphaba goes what about Anne Hathaway? She can definitely sing and i think she looks the part.

yeah! anne hathaway would make the perfect elphie! so would sara paxton as galinda!

nanny- just search both of there names and look at there pics

what about... emmy rossum as elphie? and well actually now that i think about it... I think anne hathaway is to sweet to play the part

Emmy rossum would make a perfect elphie I think! Better then anne hathaway! at first I wasnt to sure but then... I could picture her green and she kinda looks the part, but most definatley sara paxton as galinda!

Anne Hathaway is a great actress though. As little as I'd like to admit I'm a fan of hers. I bet she could do well with the role of Elphaba.

I did have a thought though. What about an actress like Hillary Swank as Elphaba? A younger woman known for her darker more brooding roles. I bet Hillary could bring a new edge to Elphaba that nobody even thought of before.

I'm still partial to Ricci though, myself.

I'll look up Paxton though. Geez it's so weird that I've never even heard the name before you all started talking about her.

lol! I dont think hillary swank would look good green though, and if they wanna do a musical then I dont think she can sing, but if its not a musical then I think that they should consider her, Oh and have you seen her yet? Dosent she just look like a galinda?

I laughed when I looked her up I'd actually watched a lifetime movie with her in it recently and been to her IMDB page to check her out. Yes she *could* be her in looks. Not sure about anything else though.

I'm not sure about emmy rossum, i mean i love her but she looks to young to me, you need to cast someone who is able to look likes she grown up after a certain time, Cause time passes between act one and act two of the musical, and this women needs to give off the feeling that she's grown as well, and Thats whats so great about Idina is that she was able to show that growth incredibly well,
