There is hope!

Hope for many more productions! Stage Entertainment, which has put on the Stuttgart production, apparently has a major presence in many countries, including France and Russia. As a matter of fact they were just running "Beauty and the Beast" in Russia, and are getting "Mamma Mia!" and a musical of Disney's "Aladdin." There is yet hope for Wicked World Domination.

Yes! We can say much the same for Italy.

But bad news for Russia: RECESSION. You can bet theatre will take a huge hit. Russia's economy is crippled.

Oh, speaking of Stage Entertainment. This is a tribute to Alan Menken with the different Belles in the Stage Entertainment productions singing 'A Change in Me' from Beauty and the Beast.

I know it isn't Wicked, but...

I think we need a production in every continent (including Antartica for all our Arctic animal friends, lol). We've already covered North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Just three more to go!

There truly is hope!
There's this rumor going on that Wicked might be Helsinki City Theatre's (one of the country's biggest theatres, great musicals) next musical!

Nothing official yet, though... But there's even been dozens of Google hits to my blog with key words like "Wicked + Helsinki" or "Wicked + Suomi" ect. :D

I'm so hoping this proves to be true!

Doubleposting, but I'm so excited about this:

I contacted the theatre and asked whether they could tell me what show they'll do after Mary Poppins or even if they could let me know when they're releasing the next fall's program.
They couldn't tell me about the show yet, as I suspected, but the press officer wrote that they'll put info about the next show up in their website in the beginning of April and that I should keep a close eye on it, since it's "not an everyday show" (or something to that matter, it doesn't translate into English). Something special, anyway.

Combine this with the rumors... Wonder if it could be Wicked?
I hope! I so totally hope! If it was I'd get the chance to see three my favourite musicals in Finland this year: Les Misérables and Chicago are already selling tickets! Luckily I've got a summer job, it seems I'm going to need some money for tickets next fall...

Can't wait for April!

I know this place is pretty dead now, but still:

It's officially true. Wicked comes to Finland. First non-replica production in the world.
I've got my ticket for opening night.

I'm overly excited!
